Algumas vezes, "now" se refere a um período de tempo no qual a ação ou evento está acontecendo, portanto podemos usar o Present Continuous para expressar algo em processo. Contudo, a ação pode não estar ocorrendo neste exato momento, ou seja, o período de tempo não coincide com o tempo gramatical.
I'm also studying Spanish. => Significa que o curso de Espanhol está em andamento, mas não necessariamente que eu estou estudando neste exato momento.

Em algumas situações, para expressar um sentimento negativo ou opinião, podemos usar o Present Continuous. Neste caso, este tempo verbal é usado para reforçar a idéia de rotina, repetição.
